Enclosed: Enclosed with Front (Door) / Undercover: Open Front We have personally stored boats and caravans for many, many years and whilst "enclosed" storage does have some advantages, it also has some real negatives! CARAVANS: Space is a real issue and a 3.5 Metre width bay will seem very narrow with walls on each side in your bay. Reversing into a black hole becomes much harder as the space is narrow and VERY dark. Solar panels wont charge, mould can be an issue, condensation and roof dripping, plus heat that cannot escape is not ideal for your van. Dust will still be an issue as sheds breathe in and out with each temperature change, so if there is dust (Gravel) surrounding your bay, it will suck straight in later on a warm day. If you had a gas leak, enclosed is less than ideal! Vans are designed to be outdoors! Mice and birds love enclosed spaces! BOATS: One of the downsides of enclosed storage space is mould! It's great to be able to store your boat knowing the seats, cover and boat will dry out properly, thus reducing potentially terrible mould issues. You can also leave your motor down to drain out! Mice and birds love enclosed spaces! OVERVIEW: Boats and Vans are designed to be in the outdoors and the breathers for gas and fuel need to breathe! Mice and birds love enclosed spaces! Plus, with undercover storage spaces our caretakers can keep an eye on things! We often turn off forgotten gas taps, move a bird nest along or alert clients to potential problems. (Like a water pump still priming or an awning not in properly) Also our security cameras are watching your actual Van or Boat, not a shed door. Its a Win / Win! Sun, Wind and Rain cause the most harm to Vans and Boats and Undercover Storage offers a cost effective way to keep your equipment out of harms way!
